Do you need to find the best Arlington real estate agent who will find you the right home in Arlington or the greater surrounding Arlington county market?
Many local Northern Virginia home buyers do not do enough research to find the best real estate agent, and often the agent they wind up using is a decision made in haste. This happens because buyers tend to be more focused on finding the home versus finding the agent. While finding the perfect home is, of course, critical, the most important part of the real estate process is finding the best real estate agent. Often, clients simply choose the agent that is attached to a home for sale but that is the wrong way to approach the process. Rather, what buyers should do is seek out a real estate agent that is an expert in their target market because choosing an agent that is attached to a home for sale can create a conflict of interest in that the agent represents the seller and not you.
What Home Buyers Should Look For In A Real Estate Agent
The fact is, buyers need help when buying a home and they need an agent who will:
- Communicate openly
- Is a skilled negotiator
- Knows the local market inside and out
- Is an honest guide of market values and locations
- Provides buying and selling tips
- Utilizes the best technology to reduce stress and increase efficiency
- Keeps your personal goals in mind
The reality is, most buyers want and need help negotiating the price and terms of sale on the home they purchase, but they also need assistance with financing and paperwork because housing and financing laws and regulations continually change and an expert is needed.
Is The Agent Vested In Maintaining High Industry Standards
In addition to a finding a local expert agent, having a Realtor® who is a member of the National Association of Realtors (NAR) and the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors (NVAR) provides added accountability and gives you a better advantage over other buyers. Additionally, an agent that has other professional designations such as Associate Broker, Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR), Member Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council (REBAC), e-PRO Internet Professional Within Real Estate, or Veteran’s Administration authorized Real Estate Agent (VA) demonstrates that the agent is vested in the maintaining high industry standards.
Our advice is to do plenty of online research to find the best agent, and do not be afraid to interview a couple of agents to ensure you get the best one to meet your needs!
