Considered part of Clarendon, Lyon Village is a welcoming community with friendly citizens. This historic neighborhood is known for its tree-lined streets and mix of 1920s-1930s eclectic style homes. Home styles include Cape Cods, Queen Anne, bungalows, Spanish Mission Revivals, Tudor Revivals, brick Colonials, and a few newer Craftsman built homes. Lyon Village is also known for its active citizens and the Lyon Village Citizens’ Association (LVCA), which organizes several annual events including a Halloween Parade and Potluck, December Holiday party, a 4th of July Parade and Picnic, and a spaghetti Dinner. Fun fact, many elected officials have come out of Lyon Village! Lyon Village just minutes from Metro’s Orange line stops Court House and Clarendon making it a convenient commuting option. Lyon Village is also very close to I-395, George Washington Parkway, and I-66. The neighborhood’s main shopping hub is at the intersection of Lee Highway, Spout Run Parkway and I-66. Also, a Veterans of Foreign Wars hall named for the developer’s son, John Lyon, who died in World War I lies immediately east of the neighborhood.
