Once filled with cherry orchards, this close-knit neighborhood has been around since 1893. Today, this hilly, tree-lined neighborhood lies at the intersection of Five Points, and, like many Arlington neighborhoods, is near numerous parks including, Cherry Valley Park, Cherrydale Park, and Oak Grove Park and features two local libraries including Cherrydale Branch Library. The Cherrydale Historic District is a national historic district and features a number of home styles including Queen Anne, Cape Cod, Colonial Revival, as well as Sears and Montgomery Ward kit houses. Also, separately listed in the National Register of Historic places is the Cherrydale Volunteer Fire House, which was built in 1919, and is considered part of the patchwork of Cherrydale’s vibrant community history.
